Functions of professional activity

in the field of production and technological activities:

- organization and introduction into production of modern agrotechnical methods of cultivation of agricultural crops, taking into account the achievements of science and production experience, control over the strict implementation of technological operations, placement, storage and processing of crop products;

- planning and organization of measures to improve soil fertility and protect it from erosion;

- control of harmful organisms and creation of optimal phytosanitary conditions of the field;

- the analysis of the main ingredients of biological products is carried out;

- development and new biotechnological processes;

in the field of organizational and managerial activity:

- organization of plant protection in agriculture, seed production and organization and management of technological processes, reclamation works, storage and processing of plant products;

in the field of experimental research activities:

- to determine the impact of agricultural techniques on the yield and quality of cultivated crops by conducting production practice and experiment;

- conducting visual observations and calculations of the growth and development of agricultural crops;

- accounting and control of agroecological safety of agricultural products when using herbicides, fungicides, pesticides;

- experimental studies of the properties and biological objects of life processes;

- study of agricultural crops in biotechnological processes.

Types of professional activity

1. Evaluation - based on a clear representation of the main content of the function of the agronomist as the organization and implementation of modern agricultural techniques in the production of agricultural crops:

- be able to efficiently and effectively use land, water, forest, labor, material and other resources;

- have the skills to organize and develop a sustainable, environmentally safe system of farming, to conduct an expert examination of crop production for the presence of dangerous harmful objects;

- be able to organize biotechnological processes in crop production.

2. Constructive:- be able to develop schemes of modern short-rotation crop rotations for farmers and other farms, taking into account land and soil-climatic resources;

- to compose technological maps of crop cultivation with the introduction of elements of innovative technologies;

- calculate the demand of farms for seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, fuel, agricultural machinery and equipment;

 - adjust agricultural machinery and equipment, set the rate of seeding of agricultural seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation standards, etc.;

- organize proper and timely post-harvest processing of grain and other agricultural products in storage facilities;

- ensuring the development of biotechnological processes and the production of biotechnological products for plant use;

- organization of the application of biotechnological methods in the selection and seed production of agricultural crops.

3. Information technology:as part of the development of technology for the cultivation of agricultural crops, be able to collect information from various sources of advanced technologies for the cultivation of agricultural crops, breeding technologies, biotechnology in crop production, GOST requirements for the quality of crop 

products, methods for determining the quality of crop products, technologies for storing and processing crop products;

- be able to compose a business plan of the economy;

- planning, organization and implementation of a system of agrotechnical measures for the reproduction of soil fertility and protection against erosion;

- assess the phytosanitary condition of the fields and predict;

- the ability to develop development programs based on knowledge of the economic fundamentals of the international and domestic large-scale movement of agricultural products in the international and domestic service markets;

- have the skills to apply knowledge about the economic, political, national and cultural characteristics of countries and regions, foreign partners of agricultural activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan and international law, compliance with the formalities and procedures provided for when receiving and sending agricultural products.

- be able to conduct market research in order to improve the efficiency of the enterprise (organization), attract investment, expand the service sector, etc.;

- have skills in the professional application of the state, Russian, English (and another European or Asian language, including fluency in special agricultural terms;

- be able to plan, organize and control the activities of the enterprise, including having the skills to manage the information flow, as well as time and other resources;

- have a solid knowledge of the code of corporate ethics, negotiation techniques, and the basics of business communication.

- use efficiently and effectively land, water, forest, labor, material and other resources;

- draw up modern short-range crop rotation schemes for farmers and other farms, taking into account their land resources and plans for their development and implementation

- make technological maps of the cultivation of agricultural crops and organize field work in accordance with them;

- establish the rate of seeding of seeds of agricultural crops, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.;

- develop techniques for creating cultural pastures and rational use of natural forage lands;

- calculate the farm's demand for seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural machinery, tools and equipment, and labor resources;

- organize proper and timely post-harvest processing of grain and other agricultural products in storage facilities without reducing their quality;

- to assess the prospects for the development of the economy in market conditions, to determine the optimal ratio of crop production and animal husbandry in order to continuously conduct production and improve the efficiency of the economy.
