History of the Department
The military department of the Kazakh Agricultural Institute was established in 1946.
The military department of the Alma-Ata Veterinary Institute was established in 1965.
The military department of the Kazakh State Agrarian University was established in December 1996 by order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 243 dated December 4, 1996 on the basis of the military departments of the Kazakh Agricultural Institute and the Alma-Ata Veterinary Institute.
Military training at the military department is carried out in accordance with the "Rules of military training for the programs of reserve officers and sergeants", approved by order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 24, 2017 No. 375.
Students who graduated from the military department under the programs of reserve officers are awarded the military rank of "reserve lieutenant" after graduation from the university.
Students who graduate from the military department under the reserve sergeant programs are awarded the military rank of "junior reserve sergeant".
