In accordance with the agreement reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to Tashkent in December 2022, and based on the outcomes of the meeting between the Heads of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan held on March 3, 2023, in the city of Shymkent, a decision was made to establish a branch of the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” (TIIAME) at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU).
With the support of both Presidents, the branch was officially launched in the 2024–2025 academic year at KazNARU to train highly sought-after specialists in the field of water management.
Educational activities at the branch are conducted in compliance with the state educational standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, according to curricula and programs approved by the University.
Dual-Degree Programs
The Non-Profit Joint Stock Company "Kazakh National Agrarian Research University" and the National Research University “Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers” (Almaty Branch) have jointly developed dual-degree educational programs.
Students complete two years of study at KazNARU and two years at the Almaty branch of TIIAME:
- Bachelor’s Degree Program: 6B08604 – Water Management and Melioration
- Master’s Degree Program: 7M08610 – Integrated Use and Management of Water Resources
