Meeting with the delegation from Norway at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University

September 5, 2024 in the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) held a meeting with a delegation from Norway “Bike for Peace”. The meeting was held with KazNARU staff and students in the format of a lecture. The meeting was aimed at developing and increasing the level of knowledge in the field of current situations, the importance of the development of the agricultural sector among young people. The meeting was attended by representatives of KazNARU and Bike for Peace: Tore Nærland - Head (President) of the movement “Bike for Peace”, Frank Tomlinson - Vice President of the movement “Bike for Peace”, Olga Khodokova - Project Manager of the Norwegian company “Ølen Betong, Lars Ingar Birkelund - Norwegian public figure, musician.   The lecture discussed the importance of agricultural specialties, how important food safety and food production are today. It is important to raise the issue among young people, so that more students would study in this direction, support world peace and engage in a healthy lifestyle.

Examples of marathons, various sporting events were given, as well as participation of these representatives from Norway in meetings where they highlighted and attracted young people to support their movement. Later there was a video clip and a blitz survey, at the end of which the more active participants received prizes.

Representatives from Norway visited the laboratory of microclonal propagation of plants and trees of KazNARU and outlined strategic directions of joint activities. Later they visited the Agrohab and Water Hub, noted the coverage of such important areas as the development of dual degree educational programs, the development of academic mobility, the students' scientific internship (bachelor's, master's, PhD), the implementation of joint research projects, lectures by faculty. The guests familiarized themselves with the work of KazNARU and highly appreciated the educational potential and innovative agrarian research.
