KazNARU HOSTS INTELLECTUAL COMPETITION ON NATIONAL VALUES AND LEGAL AWARENESS

On 22 October 2026, KazNARU hosted an intellectual competition entitled “Spirit of the Republic: Legal Awareness and National Interests.” The event formed part of “The Republic and the Constitution: A Responsible Citizen — A Strong State,” a ten-day educational programme marking Republic Day.

The competition focused on Kazakhstan’s statehood, the values of sovereignty and young people’s responsibility for the country’s future. Through the analysis of historical events and legal concepts, participants explored the protection of national interests, respect for the law and active citizenship.

Organised by the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities, the competition brought together historical knowledge and an understanding of politics and law. Its interactive tasks were designed both to assess students’ knowledge and to develop critical thinking, reasoned argument and collaborative decision-making.

The “Intellectual Matrix” round covered the history of Kazakhstan’s sovereignty, constitutional principles and the significance of state symbols. In the “Political Quote” round, participants examined statements by figures of the Alash movement and statesmen on statehood, national interests and patriotism. During the “Historical Chain” and “Black Box” rounds, students traced key events on the path to independence and solved logic challenges involving legal concepts.

Particular attention was paid to the historical significance of the Declaration of State Sovereignty. Students demonstrated their knowledge of the major stages in the country’s development and discussed the importance of respecting the values of statehood and independence. The highest-scoring teams and the most active participants received awards.

KazNARU’s ten-day educational programme brings together initiatives that promote legal awareness, strengthen national identity and encourage informed participation in public life among young people. The “Spirit of the Republic” competition made a meaningful contribution to these efforts.
