INTERNATIONAL TRAINING ON THE USE OF BIOTECHNOLOGIES IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AT KAZNARU

✅ Today in Almaty, at the Agritech HUB of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University hosted offline/online training about the use of biotechnology in sustainable agriculture. The program, organized by KazNARU, focuses on the potential of using biochar in agricultural technologies.

✅ The first Deputy Chairman-Rector of KazNARU, Professor Primkul Ibragimov, made a welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of introducing biotechnology to improve the sustainability of agriculture.

✅ Moderator - Professor Rafis Abazov, Vice-Rector of KazNARU, outlined the importance of international cooperation and spoke about the prospects for developing international cooperation with foreign partners at our university.

✅ NatCOM First Secretary for UNESCO and ISESCO Affairs Bakbergen Koishibayev, representative of the Islamic Organization for Education, Science and Culture, Dr. Fahman Faturrahman joined via video link.

✅ Director of the Department of Programs and Projects of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, Professor Zulfiqar Ali also made a welcoming speech.

The first session was dedicated to the introduction to the use of biochar in agriculture. Participants discussed the potential for commercialization of Biochar technologies and their implementation in agro-technological processes in Kazakhstan.

✅ A lecture on the topic: "Biochar for carbon sequestration and improving soil health" was given by Dr. Ghulam Haider, Associate Professor of the Department of Plant Ecology, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Atta-ur-Rahman School of Applied Biosciences, National University of Sciences and Technology (Islamic Republic of Pakistan).

✅ The topic “The Impact of Biochar on Crop Production” was presented by Dr. Ahmed H. El-Naggar, a soil management scientist in the Sustainable Natural Resources Management Section of the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture.

✅ The event included a signing ceremony for the Biochar prototype machine transfer certificate, with the participation of representatives from IOFS, ICESCO, KazNARU and the Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry.

✅ This event was an important step towards sustainable agricultural development in Kazakhstan, demonstrating the country's commitment to innovation and conservation of natural resources.

✅ The program will continue on August 29 with in-depth workshops and practical sessions aimed at exploring various aspects of biochar application, including its role in improving soil, increasing crop yields and reducing carbon emissions.
