KazNARU HOSTS DISCUSSION ON CURRENT TRENDS IN SOIL SCIENCE AND AGROCHEMISTRY

On October 30, 2026, the Faculty of Agrobiology hosted a guest lecture by Bakytbek Amirov, Head of the Agrochemistry Department at the Umirbek Ospanov Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences and Associate Professor. The lecture focused on “Current Directions and Development Trends in Agricultural Soil Science and Agrochemistry.”

During the lecture, the scientist discussed the preservation and improvement of soil fertility, sustainable land resource management, emerging areas of agrochemical research, and modern soil diagnostic methods. He also explored opportunities for agricultural digitalisation, the application of artificial intelligence and innovative technologies, and the integration of global scientific advances into Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector.

The meeting was held as part of the educational and career development event “My Profession Is My Pride!” Participants included Kulsara Meiizbayeva, an experienced land resource specialist who worked at Giprozem for more than 40 years; A.A. Zhapparova, Professor in the Department of Soil Science, Agrochemistry and Ecology; the department’s teaching staff; academic advisors; and first- to fourth-year students enrolled in the Soil Science and Agrochemistry programme.

The guest lecture broadened students’ professional perspectives and deepened their understanding of the role of their chosen field in science and industry.
