From October 12 to 16, 2026, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University held a professional development course entitled “Water Resources Management in Kazakhstan, Irrigated Land Reclamation, and the Reliability of Hydraulic Structures.”

The five-day training brought together 20 specialists from the Akmola and West Kazakhstan branches of Kazsushar, an enterprise under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Upon completion of the course, participants received certificates from the course organizer, Anatoly Ryabtsev, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Director of the International Water Center at KazNARU.

The program aimed to strengthen professional knowledge and practical skills in efficient water resources management, irrigated land reclamation, and the safe operation of hydraulic structures. The training covered water-saving technologies, the digitalization of water use, improvements in irrigation system efficiency, and methods for assessing the technical condition of hydraulic infrastructure. Attention was also given to the key provisions of the Water Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On October 14, participants attended a practical session at the headworks on the Shelek River near Malybay village in the Enbekshikazakh District of Almaty Region. At the facility operated by the Republican State Enterprise “D.
