SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE NORTH KAZAKHSTAN REGION: KazNARU SCIENTISTS PRESENT RESEARCH RESULTS
KazNARU hosted the final seminar presenting the results of research dedicated to the sustainable development of the North Kazakhstan Region. The key findings of studies conducted between 2024 and 2026 were presented.
As part of the program, around 72 scientists carried out comprehensive research across 12 areas. The research identified the region’s key challenges and resulted in scientifically grounded recommendations to address them. Particular attention was paid to population decline, the labor market, and socio-economic development.
A comprehensive analysis was also conducted in the areas of agriculture, labor resources, tourism, efficient use of land and water resources, environmental conditions, and territorial development.
The program employed modern geographic information system technologies, Earth remote sensing methods, and artificial intelligence tools. A spatial and landscape planning methodology for the North Kazakhstan Region was also developed, along with digital solutions for the efficient use of natural resources and regional development planning.
The final seminar brought together KazNARU scientists, representatives of the Akimat of the North Kazakhstan Region, and officials from several regional departments. Participants discussed the prospects for integrating the research findings into regional development processes and applying the recommendations in practice.
