INNOVATION IN ACTION: ERASMUS+ EDUFUSION KazNARU’s TEAM UNVEILS AI-POWERED CAREER ASSISTANT FOR GRADUATES
Within the framework of the large-scale regional "Train-the-Trainer" Capacity-Building Workshop held from February 16–18, 2026, at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU), the official presentation of a unique technological product took place: the Erasmus EduFusion Chatbot. Developed by the EduFusion project team from the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU), this digital tool is designed to radically simplify the adaptation of graduates to the modern labor market.
The presentation was a highlight of the Edu-Fusion Network for Sustainable Growth (Edu-Fusion NSG) workshop. Funded by the Erasmus+ program (Grant Agreement No. 101179805), this initiative aims to transform higher education in Kazakhstan by building a sustainable ecosystem between universities and industry.
A Digital Bridge Between Diploma and Career
The Erasmus EduFusion chatbot is a multifunctional virtual consultant developed specifically to address the "pain points" of young specialists. A standout feature of the tool is its trilingual capability: the bot operates in Kazakh, Russian, and English, making it accessible to a wide range of students, including international exchange participants.
The chatbot’s toolkit covers all stages of employment:
* Document Preparation: Step-by-step guidance on creating professional resumes (CVs) and compelling motivation letters.
* Employer Search: Integration of current databases and tips for effective professional networking.
* Practical & Legal Support: Answers to pressing questions, ranging from labor law nuances to psychological preparation for job interviews.
Contextualizing Systemic Change
The launch of the chatbot aligns perfectly with the four thematic modules of the training session held at EKTU. While faculty members explored engineering pedagogy, digital learning (Module 2), and professional responsibility (Module 4), the KazNARU team demonstrated the practical application of these concepts.
"Our chatbot is not just a program; it is the embodiment of leadership and innovation that we discuss in Module 4 of the project. We are implementing digital tools that empower students to feel confident in a rapidly changing labor market," noted Rafis Abazov, coordinator of the KazNARU EduFusion team during the presentation.
Scaling and Sustainability
The Edu-Fusion NSG project ensures that learning outcomes closely match economic needs. The chatbot serves as a vital link in this chain, facilitating feedback between universities and employers. Through the "cascade approach" promoted at the workshop, the experience of using this AI assistant will be disseminated across other partner universities in Kazakhstan.
This initiative confirms the commitment of Kazakhstani universities to digital transformation and youth employment. The implementation of tools like the KazNARU chatbot fosters a "smart" educational environment where technology serves the professional success of every graduate.
