TRAIN-THE-TRAINER SEMINAR WITHIN THE EDUFUSION PROJECT: A STRATEGIC PLATFORM FOR EDUCATIONAL TRANSFORMATION
On February 16, 2026, the international Train-the-Trainer Capacity-Building Workshop — “Trainer Preparation” — officially began at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University as part of the Erasmus+ EduFusion – Network for Sustainable Growth project. This initiative represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation between European and Kazakhstani universities and advancing the modernization of education systems in line with sustainable development principles.
In the context of rapid global change, higher education faces new expectations. Universities are required not only to provide professional knowledge but also to prepare graduates who are adaptable, interdisciplinary in their thinking, and committed to sustainable development values. Within this framework, the Train-the-Trainer model plays a particularly important role. It focuses on the professional growth of educators and the development of internal institutional capacity, enabling universities to systematically disseminate modern teaching practices.
The primary objective of the seminar is to introduce advanced European pedagogical approaches, strengthen interdisciplinary and interactive learning methods, develop sustainable educational solutions, and enhance the institutional capacity of Kazakhstani universities. Through this, the academic community benefits from structured knowledge sharing and lays the foundation for long-term qualitative improvements.
Seminar Program Overview
The event opened with a well-structured and content-rich agenda that allowed participants to combine theoretical learning with practical engagement.
Throughout the seminar, participants explored modern approaches in engineering pedagogy, pedagogical psychology, communication strategies, interactive teaching methods, and reflective practices. This comprehensive format ensured an effective balance between theory and application, supporting the development of educators’ professional competencies.
The EduFusion project serves as a strategic platform that strengthens international academic collaboration and promotes higher education quality. The Train-the-Trainer seminar represents a key milestone in achieving this mission by fostering a culture of sustainable development within the academic environment.
Overall, this initiative can be viewed as an investment in the future of higher education — supporting educator development while creating a long-term momentum for institutional transformation.
