Professor Dani Sarsekova — Laureate of the International Award in Crop Production

Professor Dani Nurgisaevna Sarsekova is an honored Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, a professor, and currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry and Land Resources at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU). She received her education in forestry at the Kazakh Agricultural Institute, completed postgraduate studies at the Kazakh Research Institute of Forestry and Agroforestry, and later earned her doctoral degree at the Ural Forestry University.
With a H-index of 7, over 29 scientific publications, and more than 153 citations, Professor Sarsekova has made a significant contribution to the development of forestry science and ecological sustainability. Her research covers intensive mini-rotation forestry plantations for energy purposes, carbon sequestration, protective agroforestry, and artificial mycorrhization of forest tree seedlings. She is a co-author of important studies on ectomycorrhizal fungi in northeastern Kazakhstan and the role of artificial mycorrhiza in improving the growth of Siberian spruce.
As the head of major national and international projects — including the development of the Green Belt of Astana, landscape-ecological assessments, and ecological cooperation within the framework of the Silk Road Economic Belt — Professor Sarsekova has made a substantial contribution to ecological restoration and the management of climate-resilient forests.
Among her achievements is third place in the international “Best Textbook” competition in agricultural and forestry sciences, highlighting her significant and long-term contribution to education and research in forestry.
