Strengthening Academic Cooperation between KazNARU and Jeonbuk National University

On October 7, 2025, Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) hosted a high-level delegation from Jeonbuk National University (Republic of Korea), marking a significant milestone in international academic collaboration.

The delegation, led by President Oh-Bong Yang, met with Dr. Pirimkul Ibragimov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNARU, along with the university’s deans, professors, researchers, and key administrative staff. The gathering highlighted the importance of fostering global partnerships in agricultural science and education.

In his remarks, President Oh-Bong Yang emphasized that both countries and their respective universities share a clear vision and common goals for the future. He expressed strong readiness to enhance cooperation through joint initiatives, collaborative research, and innovative educational programs.

During the meeting, the two universities exchanged insights into their recent achievements, strategic development priorities, and long-term institutional goals. A key outcome was the agreement to renew the Memorandum of Understanding, which will incorporate new areas of collaboration aimed at addressing pressing global challenges — including climate change, the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in agriculture, and research focused on carbon footprint reduction, environmental sustainability, and food security.

The parties also discussed expanding cooperation through the Physical AI project, academic exchange programs for students and faculty, joint scientific research, and the development of double-degree programs that promote interdisciplinary learning and global competence.

The meeting took place in a warm, constructive, and friendly atmosphere. Both sides expressed confidence that future joint projects will significantly contribute to elevating the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Korea in agricultural science, education, and sustainable development to an entirely new level.
