HISTORIC EVENT: A KAZAKH-GERMAN INSTITUTE WILL BE CREATED at KazNARU
On June 3, 2025, Akhylbek Kurishbayev, Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU), President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and academician, met with Dr. Wolrad Rommel, President of the Kazakh-German University.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of joint projects within the framework of previously signed agreements and exchanged views on the prospects for further development of bilateral relations.
A key decision from the meeting was the Agreement on the establishment of a joint Kazakh-German Institute at KazNARU. This institute will serve as an important educational and research platform, bringing together the academic resources of both universities.
"The Kazakh-German Institute will train students in bachelor's, master's, and PhD programs, and will also become a Coordination Center for conducting joint research in various areas of agro-industrial complex development," emphasized Akhylbek Kurishbayev.
To ensure the successful launch of the new joint Institute, a Roadmap will be developed. This roadmap will outline the structure of educational programs, mechanisms for selecting faculty, attracting international experts, and other key details.
According to Dr. Wolrad Rommel, the creation of this new structure will be supported by International Financial Organizations of Germany and the European Union. Additionally, educational grants for student training will be allocated, and technology transfer will be implemented.
The Kazakh-German Institute is envisioned not only as a training center but also as a platform for exchanging experience and implementing advanced scientific developments. Joint research projects aimed at developing sustainable and innovative technologies in the agro-industrial complex are planned within its framework.
In conclusion, the parties expressed their readiness for further joint work and outlined concrete steps for the practical implementation of the agreements reached.
