Professional Development Course "Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture in Kazakhstan" Launched at KazNARU

From April 16 to 30, 2025, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) is hosting a professional development course titled "Agroecology and Sustainable Agriculture in Kazakhstan." This initiative is part of the Life Long Learning Courses under the Erasmus+ project "Development of Bachelor Program in Agroecology with Dual Education in Kazakhstan" (AgroKaz) [1] . The course is organized in collaboration with the Kazakh Research Institute of Plant Protection and Quarantine named after Zhazken Zhyembayev and the Kazakh Research Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry named after U.U. Uspanov.

The course aims to enhance the professional competencies of agricultural sector specialists in sustainable farming practices, soil fertility preservation, and the implementation of environmentally friendly agricultural technologies. The program includes lectures, practical sessions, and seminars focusing on modern approaches to agroecology, efficient resource utilization, and adaptation of agriculture to climate change. Participants include agronomists, researchers, educators, and agribusiness representatives from various regions of Kazakhstan. The course is delivered in a blended format, ensuring broad accessibility and engagement.

KazNARU continues to actively develop professional development programs aimed at the sustainable advancement of the country's agricultural sector and the integration of innovative solutions in agriculture.
