Zhanat Mukhametkaliyevna Batanova is a researcher developing and implementing biological products for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious and parasitic diseases in farm animals. She is currently the Head of the Department of Biological Safety at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University.
Since 2007, she has worked as an assistant in the Department of Epizootology and Organization of Veterinary Medicine at KazNAU.
Since 2011, she has been a senior lecturer, and since 2015, an associate professor in the Department of Biological Safety at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University.
Her research and teaching work has resulted in the publication of 270 scientific and methodological works, including 35 preliminary and innovative patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 37 utility model patents, 5 scientific and methodological guidelines, 2 scientific recommendations, 4 textbooks, 3 teaching aids, 25 regulatory and technical documentation for drugs, and scientific articles—more than 145 of which are in journals included in the Scopus database. She has supervised the defense of 11 master's theses.
