S.E. Suleimenova graduated with honors from the Kazakh Agricultural Institute in 1976, specializing in plant breeding and seed production. S.E. Suleimenova's scientific career began at the Kazakh Research Institute of Potato and Vegetable Farming, where she rose through the ranks from graduate student, junior researcher, and senior researcher to academic secretary.
In 1987, she defended her PhD thesis at the K.A. Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy, specializing in 06.01.05 – breeding and seed production.
Since 1980, under the supervision of Academician I.R. Rakhimbaev, she has been conducting research on the introduction of modern biotechnology methods, such as embryo culture and haploid technology, into classical breeding.
Since 2001, she has worked at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, first as an associate professor, and since 2008 as a professor in the Department of Agronomy, Breeding, and Biotechnology.
In 2007, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Biological Sciences, specializing in 06.01.05 – plant breeding and seed production. In 2009, she was awarded the academic title of "Professor of Biology."
While working at the department, three textbooks were prepared: “Innovative methods in plant breeding”, “Asimdik selectionsyndagy zamanaui tekhnologiyalar zhane adister” and under the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Asimdikter selectionsy zhane tұkym sharuashylygy negіzderi”, as well as teaching aids “Sorttanu, tұkym sharuashylygy zhәne tұkym tanu”, “Variety science, seed production and seed science” and several methodological instructions. He is the author of more than 150 educational and scientific works that are scientifically novel and have been effectively applied in science and pedagogical practice.
She is also a co-author of one onion variety and three potato varieties.
Under her supervision, numerous diploma theses, master's theses, and three doctoral dissertations have been defended, leading to the award of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
