From 1973 to 1974, he worked as an engineer at the “Optimization of Energy Development” laboratory of the Kazakh Research Institute of Energy of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR. In 1975–1976, he held the position of assistant at the Department of Electric Drive of the Kazakh Agricultural Institute.
After completing his postgraduate studies, from 1980 to 2009 he worked at the Kazakh Agricultural Institute (now the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University) as an assistant, head of department, director of the Institute of Agricultural, Forestry and Water Management Engineers, vice-rector for research and international relations, and first vice-rector. From 2009 to 2024, he served as General Director of the Kazakh Research Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture, now LLP “Scientific and Production Center of Agroengineering.” Since 2024 to the present, he has been a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Energy of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University.
The main direction of his scientific research is the methodology for synthesizing the optimal structure of complex technical systems, taking into account their operational properties, functional and structural совершенство, and environmental conditions. He identified the optimal application areas of various energy transmission systems to the working units of mobile agricultural aggregates and energy supply systems for agro-industrial facilities based on various types of renewable energy sources. He developed the theory of autonomous electric drives for the working units of mobile agricultural machines.
He developed and introduced into production 9 electrified machines and devices.
