About the project
Relevance
The implementation of the project will make a significant contribution to solving the problem under study, which is relevant not only in Kazakhstan, but also in a number of countries around the world. The obtained results will make it possible to identify the genes encoding the resistance of apple varieties and rootstocks to the blight pathogen using modern molecular genetic methods based on DNA markers to intensify the breeding process of fruit crops.
The purpose of the project
Ensuring sustainable production of fruits based on the identification of genetically resistant varieties and rootstocks of apple trees to a harmful disease - bacterial burn using SNP markers for their use in highly productive apple plantations, and the development of recommendations for breeding work, which will allow Kazakhstani fruit growing to a modern level.
Achieved results
The best varieties and rootstocks with a high rate of reproduction in the mother liquor and resistance to bacterial fire have been identified and recommended for cultivation. A molecular genetic method has been developed to identify SNP markers of apple tree resistance to bacterial blight. Recommendations have been developed to improve the breeding process and increase the productivity of plantations.
