Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Atakulov Tastanbek Atakulovich turned 80 years old!

Today, on December 05, 2024, a graduate of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, currently a teacher of this university, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, professor, academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Atakulov Tastanbek Atakulovich turned 80 years old!

"One of the unique personalities who devoted her whole life to educating generations, enlightenment, made a special contribution to the prosperity of our country, headed the domestic agricultural science – Atakulov Tastanbek Atakulovich. In 1972, he graduated with honors from the agronomic faculty of the Kazakh Agricultural Institute, successfully completed his postgraduate studies, and to this day he works at the university without interruption. Also, as a professor at the Department of Agronomy, Breeding and Biotechnology, he continues his scientific work on the intensive use of irrigated lands. On today's 80th anniversary, we wish the professor - scientist good health, longevity, success in scientific and pedagogical activities, achievements! Welcome to the international scientific conference "Ways of using and developing irrigated lands of Kazakhstan" dedicated to the anniversary of the scientist!", - said the head of the University.

Then, by order of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Saparov, Atakulov Tastanbek Atakulovich was awarded the badge "Excellent Student of Agriculture". Fellow countrymen congratulated the professor on being awarded the title of "Honorary Veteran of the city of Shymkent". Congratulatory letters from the Director of the V. V. Dokuchaev Institute of Soil Science, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Russia, Professor Andrey Ivanov, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Begzein Dorzh, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Kazatzu named after S. Seifullin, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Toreuov were also presented.

Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology, PhD, Associate Professor Yerzhan Abildaev, on behalf of his colleagues, congratulated the participants of the international scientific conference on the professor's work. From 1981 to 2011, Atakulov Tastanbek Atakulovich held the positions of head of the departments of agricultural land reclamation, land reclamation and hydraulics, agriculture and crop production, agronomy, and from 1992 to 1996 he was vice-rector and gained a great reputation among students and colleagues. 12 textbooks in the Kazakh language, 14 textbooks, many methodological guidelines and standard curricula have been prepared for university students. Under the guidance of a scientist-teacher, 3 doctoral, 4 PhD, three PhD, 18 master's theses were defended.

For services to the training of specialists and the development of agricultural science in the country, in 2004 he was awarded the medal of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in 2005 "For Valiant Labor", in 2013 by the decision of the Presidium of the Russian Academy he was awarded the A. I. Vavilov medal, in 2024 - the medal of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan "veteran of labor". This year he was elected an academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2004, he was awarded bronze medals named after A. Baitursynov for the preparation of high-quality textbooks, in 2014-gold medals, in 2007 he became the owner of the state grant "The best teacher of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan". Three patents have been obtained and 15 production proposals have been developed on the issues of rational use of irrigated lands, water sources, and crop cultivation using innovative methods.

Scientific proposals were put into practice by peasant farms and farmers of Zhambyl, Turkestan, and Almaty regions, as a result of which they became honorary citizens of Maktaaral and Zhetysai districts. Professor Tastanbek Atakulovich cooperates with foreign scientists from South Korea (Lim, Sang Cheol), Germany (Kaze Heinz Koleez), Latvia (Kestytis Roma Netskas), Uzbekistan (Nazarov Khudaiberdy) in training scientific specialists for our country.
