ISSUES OF DEVELOPING PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN KAZNARU AND KAZAKH-GERMAN UNIVERSITY WERE DISCUSSED
Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Akhylbek Kurishbaev met with the President of the Kazakh-German University (DKU) Dr. Volrad Rommel to discuss the issues of developing partnership between the two universities.
The meeting was attended by: Head of the Representative Office of Martin Luther Halle-Witenberg University in Kazakhstan Dr. Peter Liebelt; Assistant to the President of DKU Arystanbek Kurmangaliev, as well as the vice-rectors and deans of KazNARU .
✅ DKU is an international university that promotes sustainable development in Central Asia by integrating education and science, making a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Germany.

“Engineering and Information Technology”, “World Politics”, “Economics and Entrepreneurship.
“DKU is actively developing its scientific potential in innovative fundamental research in the context of individual and joint disciplines, maintaining partnerships with many leading universities, research institutes and business structures,” said University President Dr. Volrad Rommel.
✅ In turn, the Rector of KazNARU Akhilbek Kurishbaev focused on the most important potential areas of cooperation between KazNARU and German partners. For example, this week KazNARU will host the final conference of the “Erasmus+ project IMPROvE_AGRO’s: project discussions, conclusion and farewell.”
“Within the framework of this conference, the results of cooperation on an international educational project are summed up, where the main partner is Freiburg University of Education (Germany). Scientists from our university actively cooperate with the Leibniz Institute for Agrarian Development in Transition Countries (IAMO) in Halle. The interregional project “Agrichange” is being jointly implemented on institutional changes in land and labor relations, as well as in irrigated agriculture in Central Asia,” emphasized Rector Akhylbek Kazhygulovich.
✅ The research project “Sustainable regional management and value creation for the conservation of old apple orchards in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan (“ALMA”)” - which is funded by the German Federal Environmental Fund - is also being implemented. This project showed good results and was extended for another two years until 2026.
“We want to expand our cooperation with the Kazakh-German University and the Halle-Witenberg University Martin Luther,” emphasized the head of KazNARU Akhylbek Kurishbaev and invited German partners to implement joint investment projects and conduct scientific research in agriculture.
During the meeting, the parties came to a consensus to further deepen fruitful mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of higher education and science.
✅ An agreement was also reached on the creation of a ‘Center for the Study of Water Resources Problems’.
During the meeting, the guests got acquainted with the activities of the research laboratories of KazNARU and expressed gratitude for the innovative scientific achievements of the university.
