KAZNARU students went to study to Pahang University in Malaysia
On November 12, 2023, 4th year students of the Faculty of «Zooengineering» and «Technology of food production» of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University Zhania Serikova and Danil Akshimbayev went for a one-year study at Pahang university, located in Kuantan, Malaysia.
Studying under the educational program 6B05102 – "Biotechnology", they will further improve their knowledge in one of the leading universities in Asia in accordance with the calendar plan of the two-degree program UMPSA-KazNARU "Bachelor of Applied Science in Biotechnology Industry with honors".
Last week, 4th year students Nicholas Khoo Jyh Shen and Lim Yeow Hong from Malaysia came to study at the Department of "Technology and food products safety" of KazNARU in accordance with this two-degree program.
The exchange of students between the two universities began to be carried out on the basis of a two-degree program jointly adopted by KazNARU and Pahang university in 2022 on the EP "Biotechnology".
Like Kazakhstan, Malaysia is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. The hot humid climate makes it possible to grow various crops such as rubber plants, palm trees (for oil production), rice and tropical fruits: cocoa, coconut, banana, pineapple. In subsequent years, agriculture accounted for 12% of the national GDP.
Rapidly population growth (32 million. human) requires the development of new scientific research and technical progress in order to increase the consumption of food products. In this regard, Pahang University, in addition to providing quality education, occupies a key place in the widespread introduction of the most modern innovative technologies in the agricultural sector.
KazNARU students learn the basics of this advanced technology at Pahang university and are confident that in the future they will return as qualified specialists who will devote innovative projects to the development of the country's agriculture.
According to the leadership of KazNARU, in the future, within the framework of international cooperation, the number of students with two diplomas in other foreign universities will grow.
