Guest meeting with the company TOASTMASTER'S INTERNATIONAL
Series: MBA KazNARU Future Entrepreneurs Forum
On 23 August 2023, Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) will host an event with an invited guest - Mr Tom Barktoske, USA. Presentation of Toastmaster's International club will be held within the framework of the series "MBA KazNARU forum of future entrepreneurs", dedicated to entrepreneurship and sustainable development. The meeting will be attended by: students, faculty and university representatives.
Mr Tom Barktoske is the Founder and Director of Mentoring at Toastmasters Club Almaty. His areas of expertise are: facilitation and implementation of strategic planning, leadership development, executive coaching, communication skills.
"Toastmaster's International is an international non-profit educational organisation that aims to develop its members' communication, public speaking and leadership skills. The learning process in the organisation consists of regular visits to local, most often English-speaking, clubs of the organisation and taking public speaking and leadership development programmes in it.
Mission:
Toastmaster's Club provides a supportive and positive learning experience where members are giving the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in increased confidence and personal growth. The meetings are organised around spontaneous 2-3 minute speeches on a given topic, question or situation (table topics).
MBA/EMBA Programme Coordinator - Rafis Abazov (Executive Director of the International Institute for Green and Sustainable Development in Kazakhstan and Visiting Professor at KazNARU) also confirmed the importance of public speaking and networking. He believes that such meetings are necessary to promote SDGs and youth entrepreneurship and quoted Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn: "The fastest way to change yourself is to network with people who are already who you want to be".
The event will be supported by the International Institute of Green and Sustainable Development at KazNARU, the Department of International Cooperation and the Agro MBA programme at KazNARU.
The working group consists of executives with extensive practical experience, scientists and staff of KazNARU: Rafis Abazov (Executive Coordinator-Manager of the MBA programme), Yesbol Omirzhanov (Director of Internationsl office), Maiya Suyunchaliyeva (Green Campus Coordinator) and Aliya Bakhtygereyeva (Head of Marketing Department).

This series of presentations is prepared by the MBA and EMBA programme to promote entrepreneurship and innovation among students. The Future Entrepreneurs Forum will provide information on domestic and international study opportunities, individual internships, international agribusiness training, internships with the world's leading agribusiness companies and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. International teachers from Poland, Netherlands, USA and Turkey will work with you.
