ISRAEL IS READY TO ASSIST IN TRAINING KAZAKHSTANS IN AGRARIAN SPHERE

December 20, 2022 Acting Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Akhylbek Kurishbayev met with the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry "Israel - Kazakhstan" Michael Roee.

The parties discussed the development of partnership between KazNARU and leading universities, research centers and industrial enterprises of Israel in the agricultural sector.

Michael Roee presented the priority areas for the development of the agro-industrial sector in Israel, spoke about the measures of state support for the industry and investment attractiveness. According to him, about 60% of the land of Israel is desert. Therefore, the government has created a powerful organization "Agrexco", which contributes to the implementation of scientific projects in the agricultural sector. Thanks to state support, everything is grown in the desert: from cucumbers and tomatoes to potatoes, onions and fruits.

In turn, the head of the university, Akhylbek Kurishbayev, invited Israeli companies and research organizations to implement joint investment projects and conduct scientific research in agriculture.

1) The leadership of KazNARU proposed to organize a super innovative research and production center for Israeli technology on the basis of one of the research institutes in the Almaty region.

2) It is proposed to implement a joint project at KazNARU with the participation of leading universities in Israel with a focus on training qualified specialists in water management.

3) The parties also agreed to develop a knowledge dissemination system for farmers under the Extension program. The Center promotes the development of agriculture through the introduction of modern scientific programs and new technologies.
