KAZNARU MANAGEMENT MET WITH THE VICE MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
December 12, 2022, the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanysh Yergaliev and acting Chairman of the Board - Rector Akhylbek Kurishbayev had an online meeting. They discussed the issue of training specialists in the framework of educational programs developed by KazNARU together with Wageningen University (WUR, the Netherlands).
During the meeting, the head of the university Akhylbek Kurishbayev made a presentation and spoke in detail about the work done by KazNARU on the implementation of the educational programs "Veterinary Food Safety and Technology" and "Plant Science and Technology".
KazNARU has the potential for the development of international programs, where students, studying at the same time at world leading universities, receive a double diploma. In its innovative development, our university is guided by the experience of Wageningen University, which is the number One university in the QS world ranking for agricultural specialties and forestry resources.
The experience of establishing and developing the Waginengen Research University (WUR) as a world-class university shows that its success began with the integration of the university with 5 research institutes in Holland. According to this example, an agrarian scientific and educational system should be built in our country. It should be noted that the Wageningen Metropolitan Food Clusters network operates at Wageningen University. It includes the university, enterprises, governmental and non-governmental organizations. KazNARU joined this network and became the second university in the world to implement Wageningen University educational programs after Nanyang Technological University (Singapore).
The aim of the educational programs is to train a new generation of specialists to improve the sustainability of agriculture, the development and implementation of innovations in the field of healthy nutrition, veterinary safety, production of safe products and biologization of the agricultural sector.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to deepen fruitful mutually beneficial cooperation in the implementation of the educational programs "Veterinary Food Safety and Technology" and "Plant Science and Technology".
The head of KazNARU Akhylbek Kurishbayev asked the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Science to support the university in the implementation of the project with Waginengen University.
Vice Minister Kuanysh Yergaliyev proposed to include KazNARU into the program of the Ministry to support universities on academic mobility and to work out this issue together with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
