THE NEXT INTRA-UNIVERSITY REFRESHER COURSE HAS BEEN COMPLETED
On the basis of the Professional Development Office of the non-profit joint stock company "Kazakh National Agrarian Research University", the next advanced training course on the topic "Genetics and plant breeding" was held with the coverage of 22 teaching staff. The course was conducted at the Department of "Agronomy, Genetics and Biotechnology" of the Faculty of "Agrobiology" in an online format from 01.02 to 21.02 2023.
The main purpose of the course is the formation of students' knowledge in the field of practical genetics, breeding, seed production and plant seed science, acceleration of the breeding process using the latest genetic approaches, as well as skills and abilities to create their own didactic materials based on the acquired material for teaching teachers and students of agricultural universities, as well as the development of abilities focused on pedagogical work in higher education and training for agriculture.
The head of the advanced training program is PhD, Professor Kairat Urazaliev. Lectures and practical classes were conducted by Professor, Candidate of Biological Sciences Kairat Urazaliev, Professor, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Saule Suleimenova, leading researcher of the laboratory "Seed Production and Plant Protection" of the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, practitioner Klara Aitymbetova, head of the Laboratory of microclonal reproduction of plants, Professor, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Serik Zhantasov.
The content of the program is based on knowledge of the basics of biology and agrotechnology of plants, related to work experience or teaching in these disciplines (bioinformatics, genomics, genetics, breeding, cytology, biochemistry, embryology, molecular biology, plant physiology and cell biology, as well as applied disciplines - information, satellite and other technologies).
According to the results of the course, the teaching staff improved their qualifications in the field of application of modern agrobiotechnological and information technologies and innovative methods in education. 12 professional modules of the program have formed professional competencies necessary for the students of the courses to perform their official duties. This program, designed to train several target groups at the same time, made it possible to train a large number of specialists in a short period of time.
The certificate of advanced training of the faculty was presented to the Deputy Chairman of the Board-Rector-Provost Bektemesov Maktagali.
