On September 23, 2026, KazNARU welcomed a delegation from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), along with 12 students who arrived in Almaty to study under a dual-degree program in Industrial Biotechnology.
During the meeting, KazNARU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Gulmira Alpysbayeva introduced the guests to the university’s key areas of activity, research potential, and facilities. The two sides discussed the organization of the academic process, arrangements for the students’ stay, and opportunities for further cooperation.
The Malaysian students will continue their studies at KazNARU, combining academic coursework with practical training and research experience.
The delegation includes Professor Kamal bin Yusoh, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic and International Affairs at UMPSA; Aizi Nor Mazila binti Ramli, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology; as well as representatives of UMPSA, Yayasan Perak, and Yayasan Sabah.
During their visit, the guests will tour KazNARU’s relevant faculties and laboratories and visit biotechnology companies and research institutions.
The dual-degree program strengthens cooperation between KazNARU and UMPSA, promotes the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and provides students with valuable international academic experience.
