A NEW GENERATION AT KAZNARU: THE JOURNEY BEGINS

KazNARU held its traditional Student Induction Ceremony 2026, welcoming first-year students as they began a new chapter in their academic journey. This year’s ceremony coincided with Almaty City Day.

Akhylbek Kurishbayev, Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNARU, welcomed the new students and congratulated them on the start of their university journey. This academic year, KazNARU welcomed nearly 1,400 state grant recipients, more than 700 self-funded students, and around 600 international students from 20 countries.

In his address, the Rector spoke about KazNARU’s continued development as a research university. The university currently partners with more than 200 leading universities and research centers worldwide and continues to expand its international laboratories and dual-degree programs. Key areas of focus include artificial intelligence, biotechnology, digital solutions, and smart agriculture.

The Rector also highlighted the role of young people in building a Just Kazakhstan and the importance of the “Law and Order” principle. According to the Rector, academic and professional success should go hand in hand with integrity, civic responsibility, and respect for the law.

“The future of our country depends directly on your knowledge, professional skills, and dedicated service to society. Study with purpose, keep learning, and make the most of every opportunity to grow,” the Rector told the students.

Concluding his address, he recalled Abai’s teachings on aspiration, hard work, deep thought, contentment, and compassion, encouraging first-year students to pursue their goals with confidence and become a source of pride for KazNARU.
