Meeting with a professor from the University of Arkansas, USA
On November 27, 2025, the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) organized a meeting with a professor from the University of Arkansas, United States of America. The meeting was attended by representatives of the International Office, faculty members and doctoral students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zoological Engineering of KazNARU, scientists in the field of poultry farming, and others.
The University of Arkansas is a public research university in the United States. The university is known for its strong programs in architecture, agriculture (especially animal science and poultry science), communication disorders, creative writing, history, law (especially agricultural law), and Middle Eastern studies, as well as its business school.
This meeting helped university representatives and scientists form a common understanding of the university and learn about further steps for cooperation between universities.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNARU, Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor – Primkul Ibragimov gave a welcoming speech. He briefly described the activities of the university and shared a presentation on the topic: “The state and prospects of poultry farming in Kazakhstan.” The presentation mentioned the key areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and other neighboring countries and countries further afield. He mentioned institutes engaged in feed production and agriculture, cooperation with countries such as the USA, China, Russia, etc. He listed companies and universities in these countries with which there is close cooperation.
He emphasized that internationalization in the educational sphere is an important part of the university's strategic development, and noted that about 1,000 students from 20 countries study at our university, and that the opening of centers and laboratories plays a significant role.
Later, he introduced all the participants of the meeting: Asylbek Musoyev, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zoological Engineering; Kaisar Tabynov, Director of the KazNARU Vaccinology Center; Zhanar Kusainova, Head of the Academic Process Department; Beibut Kulataev, Head of the Department of Zoological Engineering and Biotechnology, and other specialists, including scientists and professors in this field, among them Shokan Alpeisov, Director of the Institute of Poultry Farming, professor, and many others. There were also doctoral students who actively asked questions to the guest.
The guest, Professor Adnan Ali Khalaf Alrubaye, Head of the Center for Excellence in Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas (USA), shared the main points of the event, welcomed the representatives of the university, and noted the importance of the meeting. He highlighted 4 important areas:
1) Opening a Center of Excellence to improve the qualifications of scientists and teachers;
2) Including a poultry farming course in educational programs;
3) Conducting special training courses at the Center specializing in poultry breeding;
4) Opening research centers on poultry farming with the involvement of American scientists.
At the end of the meeting, the participants asked questions that interested them.
At the end of the event, the guest was presented with a commemorative souvenir and a group photo was taken.
Later, the guest and the university management visited the scientific and educational technology platform (Kazakhstan-Japan Innovation Center, International Vaccinology Center, Agrotechnology Hub, Water Hub). Next on the agenda was a visit to the ANIMAL EXPERT GROUP SCIENTIFIC AND DIAGNOSTIC CENTER LLP.
The event was organized by the International Office in connection with the development of international cooperation between universities.
