On May 22 of this year, the President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Akhylbek Kurishbayev, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Cho Tae-ik.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the development and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea in the field of science and technology, as well as the prospects for establishing a strategic partnership with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI).
Building on KISTI’s experience, the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan has launched the development of a situational and predictive analytics system and foresight research platform. This initiative is expected to become a key instrument for coordinating Kazakhstan’s scientific and technological strategies and, in the long term, serve as a regional hub for Central Asian countries.
The Ambassador expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support for the implementation of the mentioned work in cooperation.
For reference:
KISTI is South Korea’s national institute specializing in science and technology information. It developed the National Science and Technology Information Service (NTIS), which has become a core element of the Korean innovation ecosystem.
