The "Clinical disciplines" has highly qualified teaching staff with high pedagogical and scientific potential. To date, the department includes 1 Doctor of Sciences, 11 Candidates of Sciences, 4 PhDs, 5 Masters of Veterinary Sciences.
The auxiliary staff of the chair consists of 4 units, including a senior laboratory assistant 1 unit, 3 units of laboratory assistants. The chair has 8 specially equipped classrooms, 2 operating rooms, educational and scientific laboratory (laboratory "Reproductology and surgical pathology"), museum (museum of Veterinary Obstetrics). At the chair there are 3 student research circles, the subjects of which are related to the themes of scientific works of the chair. The material and technical support of the department meets the requirements for the conduct of the educational process and research work.
DEPARTMENT HISTORY
Effective August 2024, the department was renamed Clinical Disciplines and 8 disciplines were added from the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine and 6 faculty members were transferred on staff. The history of the department begins in 1931. Initially the chair was called “Physiology of reproduction of farm animals”, the head was Professor Ilya Ivanovich Ivanov, the founder of the method of artificial insemination of animals. After the death of I. I. Ivanov (1932) the department was dissolved. The name of the new department became “Obstetrics and artificial insemination of animals”, the head was a student of I. I. Ivanov, candidate of veterinary sciences, associate professor Vasily Grigorievich Rodionov. Since 1950 the department was headed by Boris Sergeyevich Volzhenin, a graduate of the Kazan School of Veterinary Obstetricians, candidate of veterinary sciences, associate professor.
In the period from 1968 to 1973 the department was headed by a graduate of the Moscow Veterinary Academy (a pupil of Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor N.A.Phlegmatov), Candidate of Veterinary Sciences, Associate Professor Vasily Stepanovich Kozlov, and from 1983 to 1989 this department was headed by Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Daken Otenyazovich Zhukenov.
The second department, which made a great contribution to the formation of the department is - the department of “Surgery and basics of veterinary medicine” was created in 1987 by merging the graduating departments of general and private surgery with the department of operative surgery and basics of veterinary medicine. The head was Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor G.I.Lopatnikov. In these years the directions of the main scientific work consisted in the study of castration of females and males, animal traumatism, the study of cytotoxic blood sera of different species and tissue types and their application for the treatment and prevention of various diseases of farm animals. Further management of the department since 1993 passed to the graduate of St. Petersburg School of Veterinary Surgeons, candidate of veterinary sciences, associate professor Imanbaev Aytkali Almyrzaevich.
In 1996, the Department of “Obstetrics, Surgery and Biotechnology of Reproduction” was founded on the merger of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Biotechnology of Reproduction and the Department of Surgery and Fundamentals of Veterinary Medicine.
And since 1996 to 2016, the department was headed by Doctor of Veterinary Sciences, Professor Mardan Nurmukhanbetovich Djulanov, corresponding member of VASKHNIL, Honored Scientist of Ukraine, a student of Professor Zvereva Galina Vladimirovna (Lviv School of Veterinary Obstetricians).
M.N.Julanov is the author of more than 20 patents and 20 scientific recommendations, about 500 scientific and methodical works, including 6 textbooks and 10 training manuals in Kazakh and Russian languages, as well as specialized training manuals written for state higher educational institutions and masters of veterinary medicine in cooperation with other scientists, Author of more than 20 curricula and 30 methodical manuals. He has trained 2 candidates of sciences, 20 masters of sciences and 3 PhD doctors of sciences. Currently, he is the scientific supervisor of 4 doctoral works.
Under the guidance of this person, the “Museum of Obstetrics” was established in the department with a collection of exhibits consisting of more than 200 unique wet preparations. The museum is equipped with instruments used in obstetrics and gynecology, and also equipped with stands such as anomalies of genital organs of females and males, congenital pathologies, defects and anomalies of mammary gland, fetus, structure and topography of genital organs of females and males, diagnosis of pregnancy in animals.
From 2016 to 2023, the department was headed by candidate of biological sciences, Professor Usenbekov Yesengali Serikovich. He is a graduate of the All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Farm Animals, located in the city of St. Petersburg-(Pushkin), Russian Federation. E.S.Usenbekov together with his students for the first time studied the distribution of genetic defects in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Esengali Serikovich is the author of more than 300 scientific works, including scientific articles, patents for inventions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, educational materials, methodical manuals. Teachers of the department are actively engaged in research work, in the period from 2012 to 2023 the department realized 12 grant projects of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For example, the project E.S.Usenbekov on the theme “Evaluation of genetic defects of pedigree cattle of the Republic of Kazakhstan by molecular-genetic methods”, bulls-producers, JSC “Asyl-Tulik” and LLP “Asyl” were tested. For the first time the diagnosis of genetic defects of CVM was carried out in real time using their classical diagnostic method (PCR-RFNP-analysis), which has a number of advantages. The results of research were published in Spain (Barcelona, 2016), published 8 articles in journals with impact factor, obtained 8 patents for invention of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, he is the author of textbooks and teaching methods in 3 languages on the subject “Molecular-genetic methods of research in veterinary medicine” for the educational program “Veterinary Medicine”.
From February 2023 to the present time the department has been headed by Professor K.K. Muralinov's pupil Makhmutov Abzal Kasenovich. A.K.Makhmutov is the author of more than 100 works written in the field of veterinary surgery. According to the staff in the department - 1 head, 3 professors, including 1 doctor of sciences, 11 candidates of sciences, including 5 associate professors, 5 masters of veterinary sciences, including 2 senior lecturers and 3 assistants, 1 senior laboratory assistant, 2 laboratory assistants. In the 2023-2024 academic year, 9 master's students and 3 PhD doctoral students will study at the department. The department conducts large-scale educational and methodical, research, educational, social and vocational guidance work, as well as provides practical assistance to the farms of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Scientific-research activity of the chair is directed on development of effective methods of treatment, struggle against infertility of animals and increase of activity of reproduction of animals, revealing and treatment of surgical pathologies of animals.
The department has 8 specially equipped classrooms, 2 operating rooms, a scientific laboratory and a museum. There are 3 student scientific circles at the chair, the subjects of which are connected with the subjects of scientific works of the chair. The material and technical conditions of the chair meet the requirements for conducting the educational process and scientific research.
