NEW PHASE OF SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION BETWEEN KAZAKHSTAN AND CHINA
On February 5, 2024, the President of the National Academy of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Board of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University - Rector Akylbek Kurishbayev met with Ms. Zhiang Wei, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty.
In his speech, Akylbek Kurishbayev pointed out that mutual cooperation between scientific and educational institutions of the two countries is expanding year by year with the support of the leaders of Kazakhstan and China. Specifically, there are regular consultations and meetings with many major scientific research centers and universities, such as the PRC Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Academy of Agricultural Science, Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences , China Agricultural University (Beijing), Henan Agricultural University, Lanzhou, Shihezi, Tarim, Harbin, Northwestern Agricultural Universities a number of joint scientific projects were adopted.
«In recent years, our scientists have been closely acquainted with the Chinese state's innovative and technological advancements in digital technology, IT technology and biotechnology, and are undertaking joint research work. Therefore, in order to further expand our cooperation with you, exchange experiences in the field of scientific and research, supply and export of ecological quality products, establish an Agrotechnopark focused on Chinese technologies on the basis of one specialized digitalization of economy, and cooperate preparation of competent specialists to meet market competition requirements. We hope that the Consulate, first of all, will be actively involved by large companies such as "Xinjiang Tianye", a leading organization of water-use technologies, said Aqylbek Kurishbayev.
In her turn, Ms. Zhiang Wei, the Consul General of the PRC in Almaty, supported the proposal to develop cooperation between science and educational institutions, to use China's achievements in the field of science according to the specialities in Kazakhstan's territory, to establish a "Kazakh-Chinese Scientific Center" at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and to convey these proposals to the relevant government bodies. she put her in the middle of the line.
Also during the meeting, Ms. Zhiang Wei congratulated academician Akylbek Kurishbayev on his appointment as the President of the National Academy of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and assured her that she and her team are ready to implement new initiatives between the two countries in the near future.
The meeting was attended by Chang Wei, consul on the scientific cooperation of the Chinese Consulate General, Ms. Anar Nuridildaqyzy, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Rafis Abazov, Vice-Director of International Relations and Strategic Development KazNARU, and Duman Imanmadi, the Director of the Kazakh-China Center at KazNARU.
