75th anniversary of the foundation faculty of Forestry KazNARU
On January 12, 2023, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Faculty of "Forestry" KazNARU and the opening of the laboratory named after Taizhan Tokmurzin, a round table "The importance of forests in the implementation of low carbon development strategy of Kazakhstan" was held. Well-known academicians and professors in the field of forest resources, university management, faculty and department staff, invited guests from all over the country took part in this meeting.
From 1962 to 1994, academician Taizhan Tokmurzin worked as a head of the department of "Forest Taxation and Creation of Forestry". Today, a special laboratory named after Taizhan Tokmurzin was opened on the basis of this faculty. The participants of the round table respectfully mentioned the name of the outstanding academician who made a great contribution to the training of qualified specialists in the field of forestry and the development of forestry science.
In its more than 75-year history, the name and composition of the faculty have changed several times. At present, the faculty consists of three departments: "Forest resources, hunting and fishing", "Land management and cadastre", "Water resources and melioration".
This academic year, 597 applicants were admitted to this faculty, and 1693 students study. Graduates of the faculty work today in all fields of industry, science, management bodies and far and near abroad. At the same time, our scientists contribute to the development of public and private forestry, sustainable land management and improvement of water supply and irrigation.
